Explore The Disney Magic At The Tokyo Disney Resort
Step right up to Tokyo Disneyland, where dreams actually do come true and magic abounds at the Tokyo Disney Resort! But hold your horses, because this resort isn’t actually in Tokyo, it’s in Urayasu, Chiba Prefecture, just east of the bustling city. And get this, it’s not even owned and operated by the Walt Disney Company – it’s all about the Oriental Land Company, who licensed the Disney brand.
So, if you think you can plan your trip to Tokyo Disney Resort just like you would for any other Disney Park, think again. It’s a whole different ball game here.
Tokyo Disneyland Park, the OG park outside the US, opened its doors on 15th April 1983. Taking inspiration from the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World and Disneyland Park in California, this place may look familiar to those who have visited the American resorts. But pay attention, because there’s a few attractions that are unique and different.
Just 20 minutes from the Tokyo Station and not far from Shinjuku or Shibuya, you can a few days in Tokyo too. Our local guides can help you get around Tokyo and experience the best of Japanese culture.
Some of our favourite Tokyo Disney Resort Hotels include the Hilton Tokyo Bay or Sheraton Grande Tokyo Bay Hotel all connected to the parks thanks to the wonderfully themed monorail.

Tokyo DisneySea – The Best Disney Theme Park In The World?
Tokyo DisneySea, the second park at the resort, made its grand debut on September 4, 2001, with a whopping price tag of 335 billion yen (approximately US$2.7 billion). Known as the shining star of Disney Parks, Tokyo DisneySea holds the title of the world’s 4th most visited park. With seven unique themed ports of call, this impressive park showcases the incredible results of Imagineers being given free rein to let their creative juices flow.
And once you’ve stepped foot inside Tokyo DisneySea, you’ll going to agree that this is not just the best Disney park in the world, but the best theme park ever. Seriously, the level of detail in this park is insane.
Plus, Fantasy Springs is one of the biggest expansions of any Disney theme park!
Add Extra Thrills with Universal Japan
Universal Studios Japan is one of the fab four Universal Studios resorts scattered across the globe. Opening its doors in Osaka, Japan, on March 31, 2001, this park serves up some seriously unique attractions like “The Flying Dinosaur” and a sprinkle of favourites from other Universal Studios parks, including the spellbinding Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey and even old classic such as Jaws.
Lately, Universal Studios Japan has been flexing its event muscles with cool happenings like Cool Japan and splurging on new attractions (hello Super Mario World in 2020 and a swanky new nighttime parade). It’s officially a top-tier “must-do” in Japan.

Amazing Attractions At Shanghai Disneyland, Pudong
The latest addition to the Disney Park family, Shanghai Disneyland, made its grand debut on June 16, 2016 in the bustling city of Pudong, Shanghai, China. The resort not only includes the park, but also Disneytown, Wishing Star Park, Shanghai Disneyland Hotel, Toy Story Hotel and Meliá Shanghai Parkside. Located not far from the Shanghai Pudong International Airport, most people combine a trip to Hong Kong and Shanghai. The local Metro lets you visit Shanghai and our local guides can put together some brilliant places you’ll want to visit.
In just a few short years, this Park has undergone some major transformations, keeping things interesting for visitors. But, it does make it a bit tricky to plan your trip with all the changes happening. Luckily, you’ll have our team of Disney Gurus helping you every step of the way.
What’s The Shanghai Disney Resort Like?
One of the major highlights of Shanghai Disneyland is the seamless blend of classic Disney rides and culturally-inspired experiences. From the iconic Pirates of the Caribbean ride, the Enchanted Storybook Castle, to the thrilling Tron Lightcycle Power Run coaster, there are plenty of exciting rides that will delight Disney fans.
But what sets Shanghai Disneyland apart is its commitment to incorporating Chinese culture into the park. The Gardens of Imagination is a stunning garden-themed land that pays tribute to traditional Chinese horticulture and features beautiful floral displays and tranquil pathways.
Another must-visit area is Adventure Isle, where you can embark on an expedition to the mysterious Roaring Mountain or explore the ancient ruins of the Camp Discovery. The blend of classic Disney storytelling with Chinese elements creates an immersive and captivating experience.

Hong Kong Disneyland Resort – A Magical Destination
The Hong Kong Disneyland Resort is made up of a single park and you can stay at one of the Disney Hotels – Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel, Disney’s Hollywood Hotel, and the fancy new Disney Explorers Lodge.
Take the train and head on over to Lantau Island in Penny’s Bay, where the park sits on reclaimed land, similar to Tokyo Disney Resort. And no need to stress about getting there, because the Hong Kong International Airport is right on the same island.
Discover a Perfect Blend of Disney Magic and Chinese Culture
One of the most unique aspects of Hong Kong Disneyland is the perfect blend of Disney magic and Chinese culture. From the moment you enter the park, you are greeted with a vibrant fusion of the two. The iconic Disney characters take on a new twist with Chinese elements, creating a one-of-a-kind experience.
As you explore the different themed lands, you will be immersed in the charm of both Disney and Chinese culture. Adventureland takes you on exciting expeditions, with rides like the Jungle Cruise and the Rafts to Tarzan’s Treehouse. Fantasyland, on the other hand, transports you to a world of fairy tales and imagination, such as the Castle of Magical Dreams and the Mad Hatter Tea Cups. One of the most unique Disney attractions (and best) is Mystic Manor. It’s a firm favourite here.
Tomorrowland is where you can experience the future with a touch of Chinese flair. From the unique Ant-Man and The Wasp: Nano Battle! to the innovative Iron Man Experience, this land offers a unique blend of Disney’s futuristic vision and Chinese technological advancements.
Embark on a Journey to The World of Frozen – New Land
One of the highlights of Hong Kong Disneyland is the newly opened World of Frozen. This new land is dedicated to the beloved Disney movie Frozen, bringing the magic of Arendelle to life. Step into the icy world of Elsa, Anna, and Olaf, and embark on a journey full of adventure.
In the World of Frozen, you can experience Frozen Ever After, where you will be transported to the Kingdom of Arendelle and join Elsa and Anna on a magical boat ride. You can also meet your favourite characters from the movie, including Elsa, Anna, and Olaf, and even have a Frozen-themed meal at one of the unique dining options in the land.

Do They Speak English?
Yes, when we’ve visited it’s never really been a problem finding someone who speaks English. Not everyone will of course, but there should usually be someone close by that can help. Due to Hong Kong’s connections to the UK, English is written and spoken almost everywhere. They even drive on the left-hand side of the road and use the UK plugs too. We also have some great tips and tricks to help you overcome the language barrier too. It’s one of the many reasons to book your holiday with Orlando Insider.
Which Is The Easiest Disney Park To Visit?
All 3 Asia parks are located close to massive towns with good transportation links. Overall, Hong Kong is probably the easiest to visit thanks to it’s location close to the airport and also Hong Kong itself. You can visit for just a day or 2 easily from almost anywhere in Hong Kong making it a great place on your Asian Adventure. English is also widely spoken too.
